Treatment For Carpal Tunnel
Apr 6th, 2011 by admin

What are the best home treatments for carpal tunnel?

I read on the subject, but there seems to be a difference of opinion certain aspects of home treatment. Some sources suggest that cold therapy (10-15 min. So once an hour). Other suggest that the heat is useful. I use pills against pain anti-inflammatory (like ibuprofen), but wonder what I can do well in a splint, and if hot or cold is better. Thank you very much for the advice! I'm having a terrible time as a single mother of a month six years with a low wrist pain.

Cold packs help reduce swelling is, and should be useful when you notice a swelling or a rash where the first problems in place. Warm compresses are used primarily to loosen tight muscles or tendons. Carpal tunnel syndrome can develop with or without problems tendon or muscle. So, as far as heat is concerned, to use if you feel good, do not bother if it does not work. An option for you to consider becomes a cortisone shot of the doc – which can completely stop the inflammation and allow things to heal if you continue to use a splint and also perform stretching exercises. If you see a doc for a shot, also arrange a visit with a physiotherapist to show the appropriate exercises.
